Barton was born about 1804, based on census records and while I've seen nothing which would suggest the Barton that married Rachel Roberts was the son of John Townley, I can't find another man by the name that it could have been. The age of this Barton, in 1858 would have been about 57 so the age is only off a few years and I'm not certain 1804 was his correct year of birth.
