    3. Thanks Judith for your response earlier. I know this subject has been beat to death with no real answers. I just can't go anywhere till I know who John is, his father, etc. Can he be John Oswald, wasn't his birth date 1832, son of George , Daviess Co'? My ggrandfather is Charles Mattingly. 1850 Census of Daviess County, KY Does anyone know fairly sure which George this is? 16 672 691 Mattingly George 47 M Farmer 2,300 KY 17 672 691 Mattingly Nancy 43 F KY 18 672 691 Mattingly Austin 21 M Farmer KY X 19 672 691 Mattingly John 18 M KY X 20 672 691 Mattingly Harriet 16 F KY 21 672 691 Mattingly Ellen 14 F KY 22 672 691 Mattingly Milton 12 M KY 23 672 691 Mattingly Eliza J. 10 F KY X 24 672 691 Mattingly Mary A. 8 F KY X 25 672 691 Mattingly Nancy 6 F KY X 26 672 691 Mattingly Patrick 3 M KY 1880 ( puzzle) THIS George same as above?. Think the census was done on differing days or another census taker and John was placed in both households? 2 Johns , same age suddenly in same place. I've been trying to locate this census in the IMAGING census on Ancestry.com to see if there is a clue there. George Mattingly age 77 (1807) KY MDMD John age 48 (1832) KY Harriet age 45 (1835) KY John Mattingly age 48 (1832) KY Lucy age 32 (1848) Charles age 12 (1868) Della age 9 (1871) Mary age 8 (1872) Susan age 2 (1878) Ideally, IF George or John were property owners , an Affidavit of Descent would probably clear this up because it names , spouses, siblings, children whoever the real estate was passing to. IF he owned property. Donna [email protected]
