For what its worth since I don't have this information well sourced but I show the Jesse you are talking about as Jesse Mattingly b. 3/24/1833 in Clay Co, KY, he married Mary Jane "Mollie" Asher in Clay Co, KY and they were parents of John Lucas Mattingly b. abt 1857. This information I received from a Kathleen MacFarland, descendant of John Lucas. I show this Jesse as the son of William Mattingly(1804-1893) and Aisley Alice Bowling, William is the son of Ignatius Mattingly(1781-1833) and Mary Ann Daft, Ignatius is the son of Ignatius Mattingly(1737-1807) and Eleanor Shircliffe and Ignatius is the son of Ignatius Mattingly(1704-1789) and Sarah ?? and Ignatius is the son of Thomas Mattingly, II and second wife Elizabeth.
