I recently did some research trying to find the parents of Lucinda Mattingly who married Richard Riley Mattingly and have concluded that Henry Elsey Mattingly's son James M Mattingly married at least twice, first to Sarah E Whitfill, dau of Martin B/G Whitfill and Rebecca Shaw and secondly to Nancy Elizabeth Clark, dau of Matthew C Clark and Mary Mariah Bray. Lucinda was the daughter of James M Mattingly and Nancy Elizabeth Clark. At the same time, Dolores and Danny Bohn who have a Mattingly line on their web page obtained the death certificate of Lucinda and it does state that Jame Mattingly and Nacny Clark were her parents. There are other children of these families, I am only showing hte ones listed at the time the census records were taken. KY.  I have not found her in the 1860 census but bet she married someone before James M Mattingly.
