I have in my unknowns James Mattingly married 1792 in Fayette Co at the Walnut Hill Presbyterian and Alexander Mattingly b. c1776 buried at Christ Episcopal Church.This would indicate they were not Catholic and we are looking in the wrong places for our ancestors. And again they might married in the heat of the nite and redone it in the Catholic Church.
