Judith, et al., How interesting. HEM wrestled with the possibility that there were 2 Clement Mattinglys, one in SMC and another in AAC and I had concluded the same. Oddly, both married women named Ann but otherwise they appeared to be 2 separate individuals. I suppose that they could be one in the same. However, the odd item that sticks out is that Clement Mattingly of SMC did not mention or name a wife in his will, while clearly she was alive in 1784. Why would this be?
