    1. Re: [MATTINGLY] James A. Alvey 1821
    2. Joe, You found the tombstones of James Allison Alvey (9/3/1821-5/24/1881)and his wife Elizabeth Lampkin(5/2/1828-5/5/1884), dau of George W Lampkin and Rebecca Thompson. James Allison Alvey is the son of Charles Alvey and his second wife Mary Elizabeth Ray. James and Elizabeth had 11 children, 5 died before they married and the others moved on to Louisville. 7 of their children were buried in Holy Cross. 2 are in St Louis Catholic Cemetery in Louisville with several of my Alvey family members including my grandfather, 1 is buried in St Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Lebanon and there is one I wish I knew, a Katy Bell Alvey who married a Blandford.
