    2. Dan, I guess I don't understand your objections. I thought Ancestry was the owner of Rootsweb and in turn, Rootsweb was the owner of the Genconnect boards. A couple of weeks ago I received an e-mail from Rootsweb informing me that the format was going to change and that Genforum and FamilyHistory surnames boards will be combined. I have accessed the Genconnect boards almost daily since that note and while I do find that a format change, it seems to be working fine from my perspective and I have had no problem accessing the queries or posts from any of the states or counties I regularly access. As for Genconnect being closed, I was accessing and leaving queries only 15 minutes ago. What do you mean by it is closed? As for the [email protected] group list, it only has 13 members and not a single post since January which by the way was where old Charley went when he kissed off this group. No thanks, I had enough of him when he was here. You have been trying to get us all to move over there for two years, is that what this is all about!!!!! The Yahoo boards are sparcely used and not so far I have not found Yahoo to be a great supporter of the family history buffs. I belonged to your Yahoo board for about two years and think about 4 messages were posted in that entire time. Please send another e-mail to this list and to Ancestry at the same time so all can respond to your concerns. I for one have been very happy with the new changes from the merger of these genealogy groups and would not like to see actions that impede that progress. As for the wills etc that were posted to the Genconnect locations, they are still there just in a central locations, see below. For example all of Judith Burger's wills are still there I looked at them this morning . "How do I find posts that were on the GenConnect boards for obituaries, wills, biographies, etc? The former suite of boards at GenConnect has been combined into one master board containing posts to any board in the suite. These posts can now be accessed using the "Advanced Search"' option. Click on "Advanced Search" and select the classification from the "With Message Type" drop-down box.A "Message Type" search currently returns posts from ALL boards with that classification. Refine your search by typing a surname or a county name in the "Find Messages Containing" or "With Subject Containing" box." I did this it is very simple and wills on Mattingly from various locations, KY and MD can be accessed at the same time. Please see this only as a reply trying to sort thru your comments and what I see on the boards. I for one am not convinced, if you can do that I will go your direction. By the way, what is "fire hot". I accessed 27 different locations this morning on Genconnect and all were there and all worked as expected. 3. I have reclaimed all the gen boards They have all changed, all the data is there = but they are clumped together The Mattingly forum was created for you all to use as your own system, you can trade pictures, geds, and such to the list, it also has a 20 meg web page with picture sharing and a data base some one can build , its all for you people and up to you if you want to use it , I only created it and told every one what it can do, you are not stuck with plain text , it is a nice setup . Any one here can think of what you would like to use it for , go ahead . Subscriptions are open, the website is open, and it also has instant chat. Fire hot - are the admins who own Genconnects and liked them where they were and how they were - as it is I have to redo about 50 webpages to correct them for new links.
