In my on-going saga of Clement Mattingly of Ann Arundel County vs. Clement of SMC, I had a copy of the will of Elizabeth Mattingly made. That is, Elizabeth Mattingly, wife of Thomas Mattingly, son of Clement of Thomas III. Elizabeth died in 1773 and HEM referenced this will as: Liber 39, folio 342 and Liber TA #1, folio 650. The will reads pretty much as HEM indicated but there is a line in the will which reads, "Im I give and bequeath my mothering law Ann Mattingly my red cloke to her and her heirs forever." Now there is no proof that this is Ann Burton Coyle of Ann Arundel County that married Clement Mattingly but I think that the evidence is leaning more toward there being one Clement Mattingly who merely owned property in Ann Arundel, Baltimore and St. Marys Counties.
