What a relief to be back on the system. Still aren't sure it was my ISP to blame for I know that Rootsweb had a few links down for a short period. Anyway, I'm looking for sign of Ignatius Reynolds Mattingly, Jr., a son of Ignatius Reynolds Mattingly and Catherine A. Mattingly. I believe it was I. R. who appears on the 1920 census as Nace Mattingly and married to Nellie and with a son named Bernard, aged 5. For a while I had thought that this Nace might have been the Ignatius Mattingly married to Florence Gilmore but the 1920 census shows both Ignatius J. with wife Florence in Knottsville, Daviess Co. and Nace Mattingly and Nellie over in West Louisville, Daviess Co. Clearly two different men. Both men were near the same age I. J. born about September 1887 and I. R., Jr. born 2-5-1888. Anyone familiar with these men?
