    3. I think it's possible that I have some mis-information on this family and maybe this can straighten it up a little. Joseph Mattingly, son of Ignatius, had a son named Joseph on the 1850 census, aged 11. By 1860 Joseph (aged 65) and his wife Elizabeth are found in Black, Posey County, Indiana. The 1870 census of Black, Posey Co. shows Joseph as a senior and his son (?) Joseph in Mt. Vernon, Posey County aged 31 and married to Catherine with children Monette 6 and Francis 1. The info I have may be wrong in that the children I thought were Joseph's and Mary Catherine Yates were: Mary E. 1863, Charles W. 1868, Thomas Gabriel 1870, Sarah E. 1873. This however is the family of a Joseph over in Martin County, IN during the 1870 census and may be the wrong Joseph assigned to Ignatius. The Joseph in Martin County was 30 in 1870 while the Joseph in Mt. Vernon, Posey County was 31. ******************************************** > > Seeking info on descendents of Joseph MATTINGLY > in Mt Vernon , Posey Co, IN > wife, Katherine Hancock > daughter Katherine Monette Mattingly > son Louis Mattingly > I have copy of 1880 census but need others. > Thank you for info on this > Alicia Dorsie-frank.

    3. William, is this the Joseph Mattingly you refer to in the 1850 Census? If so, which Ignatius is he the son of? It states he was born in Maryland.
