Ralph, we must be "cuzins". Leonard Mattingly d 1829 is my 5th great grandfather. I am confident as one can be in this genealogy business, that William d. 1817 and Leonard d. 1829 are both the sons of Ignatius d. 1789, son of Thomas II, due to the wills. My records show that the Lucinda Mattingly that married John Woodring in 1832 in Washington County is the daughter of Joseph Mattingly and Mary Hayden, though. However, I tend to think that this may be an error on my part. I am a firm believer of following the names in family constellations, and the names of the children of William Mattingly b 1813 and the names of the children of Lucinda Mattingly m. John Woodring, bear a great deal of coincidence as Dan Creel has pointed out, and their close family association in living near one another lend more credence to the supposition that they were relatives. Where else can we look for confirmation or to refute this budding theory? Where are William and Bob? Chime in, PLEASE! Judith A.
