    2. Something that might be of interest. I took this off CD # 518 from Family Tree Maker's Family Archives, Genealogical Records, Colonial NJ, 1600s-1800s. Found on page 30 of the Burlington Court Book. Spelling is done as it is on the CD. I will also Cap the surnames. Sandra The Burlington Court Book 1684 The names of those within the Third Tenth who appeared no at the Court William COOPER, Daniell WALTON, the Accompt of his Land is taken before, John ASHTON, Timothy HANCOCK, John ROBERTS, William MATLOCK, Thomas WALLIS, Jeremiah RICHARDS, the Accompt of his Land is taken before. Overseers for the Highwayes in the First Tenth Godfrey HANCOCK, John WOOLSTON. Overseers for the Third Tenth William COOPER, Thomas HOWELL. And overseers to doe the remainder of the worke at Yorkshire bridge Thomas MATTEWES and John CRIPPS. John BOARTON Fyned 20 shillings by the Court upon the Complaynt of Daniell WILLS overseer for the Highwayes in the Second Tenth for his the said Johns neglect of doeing his worke, and Contempt of the Authority of the overseers concerning the same worke at the Highwayes. Att a meeting of the Proprietors and Freeholders in the First Tenth the 24th of the 4th month 1684 by vertue of a warrant to them directed, for the Chuseing their Assessours and Receivers for the Assessment or rate Enacted by the Generall Assembly; And alsoe for the giveing in each persons quantity of Land in the Tenth, both of undevided shares, and Certaine Tracts. Assessours Chosen >From the Falls to Crosswicks Creek. William EMLEY, Joshua WRIGHT. >From Crosswicks Creek vizt Chesterfield and Mansfield and places adjacent John HOOTON, Francis DAVENPORT. >From Mansfield or to Assiscunck and parts adjacent Daniell LEEDS, Percifall TOWLE, Robert STACY and Thomas REVELL receivers. There are 2 pages of the the names of the propritors and freeholders and the number of acres they posses. William MATLOCK in not mention there. He shows back up on page 74, will send that information in another email.
