    3. Good Morning Melba Just thinking out loud. Washington County, Ky is the site of old Harroldsburg Fort (Boonesboro) in the central part of the state. Pittsyvania County is in southern Virginia near the Tennessee boarder. Isham is listed as born in Virginia (county?) Isham is Scots name (sort of??) Maybe the families knew each other in the UK...Isham is on his way to Missouri but is in Kentucky long enough to have started and raised a family. Which of the family is in Henrico or Charles City county at about the same time as Henry Isham is? Joe Matlock Boards > Surnames > Isham URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=message&r=an&p=surnames.isham&m=242 Subject: Henry ISHAM will. "of Henrico Co., VA d. 13 Nov 1678" Author: Marcus D. To my honored mother Mrs. Katherine ISHAM one third part of my personal estate, both in Virginia and England, after the legacies above are satisfied, and to my sister Mrs. Anne ISHAM one third part &c. I give my plantation in Charles City County, Virginia, commonly known by the name of Doggams &c &c between my two sisters, Mrs. Mary RANDOLPH and Mrs. Anne ISHAM. I bequeath to Mr. William RANDOLPH all the rest of my estate both in Virginia and England and appoint him full executor. Wit: Ja. Tubb, John Wynn, Wilbert Daniel, Hugh Davis. Bath, 81. vol. XLIV. 9" >>> Melba Bolinger <granneronline@earthlink.net> 3/15/2004 5:56:42 PM >>> Joe, I keep seeing Pittsylvania Co..Va. mentioned. Some researchers have Margaret Ann Arthur who married Thomas(Isham Elias) Matlock 19 Jul 1816 in Washington Co Ky. Margaret was born 10 Sept.1798 in Pittsyvania Co Va. Her parents were Alexander Arthur and Isobel Hamilton.. The Arthurs were in Mo. about the same time as the Matlocks. Were these families traveling together? Some have Margaret Ann born in Bathgate Paroch, West Lothian, Scotland, maybe her folks were from Scotland. Just thinking.
