Joyce My software puts up an error message if the last names match so I would not have recorded it as such if they were not the same. I have not worked on that family in a long time. If Josephine was native American then Oklahoma was a good place to be. Before statehood the few white land owners were married to Indians. It was about the only way to legal be there. Joe Matlock >>> joyce moore <[email protected]> 12/18/00 01:49PM >>> Joe, do you know that John Matlock married Mary Matlock, or are you just giving her married name. Also, I "think" that the wife of Thomas Leonidus Matlock was Josephine Harris. I know she was Josephine, and that she was Native American. There was a Josephine Harris in the county by him and I presume he married her. There is a Josephine Harris on the Indian rolls. I have not been able to find them after the 1870s in Red River Co., Texas. I wonder if they went to Oklahoma. Joyce Moore Joe Matlock wrote: > Merry Christmas to all. Did not what to close done for the season and not take one last opportunity to say Merry Christmas too all. And just so you have something to do over the holidays I am cleaning out the data base of widows, orphans and lost lines. I will publish here what ever and all of the information I have whether Matlock or Medlock or Matlack or Matlick. If any of you know any of these folk or can contribute to the cause of tying the family together please feel free to respond. There will be a whole series of these each with this message and the primary ancestor as the subject line. > > May you all get what your want for Christmas and unlike myself only what I deserve. > > Good Luck > > Joe Matlock > > Descendants of John Matlock > > Generation No. 1 > > 1.
