Hi KirkFinally got this thing to run...The Matlock and Matlack families are we suspect decedent of a pair of "brothers" William Matlack and John Matlock both from England. William, a Quaker, going to New Jersey and John to Virginia. We know that the families moved back and forth between the two areas. The Matlack's going then into Pennsylvania and the Matlocks to North Carolina and South Carolina. The Medlock families of the Carolina's are genetically linked to the Matlock's of Virginia and Tennessee and then points west. I suspect that the Joseph Matlack who marries Julia Scot and fathers Joseph Scot Matlick is a relation to one of the Pennsylvania branches. I and several others who are looking hard at the connection have not yet found the proof. But you are the proof*Several of the family have begun a DNA testing program for all branches of the family. The URL below will take you to the site; explain the program and the cost (not much really). You can also find al! l of the other trees in the program. The current test only works for males who have surname; hence you are the perfect candidate*the missing link as it were. If your DNA matches our then the riddle is solved. We know who you are. I encourage you to consider this opportunity. In the mean time keep looking around we are out there some where Joe Matlock http://www.ba044ancestry.com/Matlock/DNA.html From: > To: "Joe Matlock" <Joe.Matlock@state.tn.us>Date: 4/3/2004 10:57 PMSubject: Re: Joseph Matlack Hello Joe!Sorry I haven't responded sooner, I've been away. However, I don't have anything new on Joseph Matlack or families in the 1700's/1800's. If you have anything, I'd be glad to know! Also, do you know if / where you fit in with this family? Most 'Matlock's I've talked with don't have any relationship with the Matlack's or Matlick's, so if you do, that would be very interesting. Thanks!Kirk ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joe Matlock" Date: Tue, 30 Mar 2004 11:37:55 -0600 To: Subject: Joseph MatlackHave you found any connection to the rest of the Matlack families living in colonial New Jersey of about 1730? I was wondering though if you were part of that line. I hadn't seen any 'Matlock's in the line and most that I've talked with were from a different lineage. Sorry I didn't help much, but am interested in your line as well!Cheers!Kirk ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joe Matlock" Date: Tue, 06 Apr 2004 09:00:55 -0500 To: Subject: Re: Joseph MatlackGood Morning KirkOur network is going crazy...only the header of your message got through.
