David, I've always thought that Thomas that you have listed first... was son of Thomas that died in Clarke County, AL in 1854. The 1850 census is the only one that has him marked as born in SC. The 1860 and 1870 show him marked in NC. The reason that I think he was son of Thomas....may not make sense to anyone else but it is what I've based my reasoning on. Thomas Henry born 1788 in NC (later TN) died 1854 in Clarke Co, AL; his wife is Elizabeth. Hope I don't loose you on this one. Elizabeth is in Houston Co, TX in 1860 and Thomas b. 1808 was in Houston Co, in 1850. So mother probably came to TX after old Thomas died. Now look at Thomas (1808) first son....he was born in IN about 1834. Thomas Henry's was murdered and died in IN and Thomas had to testify at the trial of the man who killed him in Hendricks Co., IN. This was in 1826 (I believe). Thomas Henry's father died in Morgan Co., IN in 1829 and left land to him. Thomas Henry sold his land to his brother. This transaction was about 1836 and filed 1841. So looks as if Thomas Henry was back and forth to IN.
