I have seen this John Wesley Matlock posted by Joe and others. Can anyone supply one shred of evidence on him? I have a wife Margaret and children which is being used by others. Question: Where did these names come from? Is there documentation anywhere for John? That would list his wife, children or anything. I have on John a tax list for Halifax County, VA. I have a John that was in Hawkins County, TN about the same time that Moore was there. CENSUS: (1)1782 VA, Halifax Co; John Matlock; 4 whites. DEED: NC Grant #1062, Deed book 5, pg 194; 29 July 1793; To John Medlock, 100 acres on the Holeston River including the improvements by Henry Hicky. Cons: 50 shillings per 100 acres. Adj: Cincaid.
