I show that Luke was born abt 1766 in Probably Halifax Co Va since that is where Moore was at that time.. and He died in Barry Co Mo after 1860.. ( He can be found on the 1860 census age 94 living with his daughter Anna.. Luke More than likely Married Charity Choate...But I believe she died before 1850 Humphrey Co TN.. The Charity Matlock that is showing in 1850 and 1860 I am not sure what her maiden name is yet or which Matlock she married.. You show Benjamin.Perhaps the Benjamin that shows in Davidson Co 1840??? More than likely Luke was named after Jane's brother Luke Powell. Luke's wife name is not proven. Luke's wife died in Humphreys Co TN between 1841-1849 Luke died after 1860 in MO, possibly Barry Co Mo where at the age of 94 Luke was living with his daughter Anna. Taking the 1790 and 1820 Census readings it appears there were at least 11, and maybe more children. With out a 1810 census reading, it is hard to say exactly how many there were. There is much speculation on whose Luke's wife might be, but since the name Edward is in his family, I believe his wife was a Choate. Some believe she was Eleanor and others believe she is Charity. A Charity Matlock was named in Edward Choates will dated in 1829.. 1829 Edward Choate named in his will a daughter Charity Medlock (in Robertson Co., Tenn. Wills, Bonds, Inventories & Sales Books, Volume #7, 1828- 1832, pages 482 - 486 Will of Edward Choate, Sr. - 28 August 1829 per Email from Sherill de Carrico 12 APR 00).
