Zachariah's great grandfather's brother William was Quaker as were most of his (William's) descendants, to include Col Timothy of Philadelphia. The Southern branch seems to have gone Anglian to Methodist to reformist and restorations during the Great and Lesser Awakenings. This is the information I was given on them by a PRINCE researcher. Nancy m. JOHN CLARK PRINCE in 1819, they had my ancestor JOHN CLARK PRINCE 11 b. 1822 Zachariah served in the Rev. War in the Virginia State Line. He was at the Battle of Brandywine. His wife Lucy received a pension for her husbands service in the war. That pension number is W8420. The Matlocks moved to Caldwell Co., KY before July 1801. I was told that the early MATLOCK families were Quakers. Nancy died in 1824. Thanks for any help you can give.
