"Received pay from Col Robert Harris Granville Regiment of Militia, Granville Co NC for services protecting public peace at Hillsborough NC... John Medlock --Samuel Medlock--Nicholas Medlock--HENRY MEDLOCK (RWM) 1769 - Granville Co NC....Nicholas Medlock tax has sons John and Henry (RWM) NEW RECORDS: 1787-April - p. 129- Richmond Co NC Superior Ct.Henry Medlock.Esq appt coroner for the County. (Comment-Would assume he is a resident to hold such an office) 1788-Richmond Co(ibid)...Henry Medlock proved in court a deed from Charles Medlock, Esq to James Watson.(This is Col Charles Medlock Anson/Richmond NC) 1789-Richmond Co NC Court(ibid)p. 169--Henry Medlock appellee vs Daniel McLaughlin-mistrial 1789- (ibid page 169) Suit of James Cole, esq vs Wm Crawford, Esq ..one of the jurors: Henry Medlock. 1789-Richmond Co NC Court- (ibid) p. 174 - Henry Medlock vs Daniel McLaughlin wins award as plaintiff in the sum of 15 pounds... OTHER OLD RECORDS WE MAY ALL KNOW...Same HENRY?. 1790- Halifax Co Va. Henry Medlock marries Kerenhappeach Sanford 1810- Burke Co NC...Henry MEdlock on the census on page 114 ( A Charles and a Sarah Medlock on the same Census...on pages 113.)(This is not Col Charles Medlock/aka ESQ-He died in Warren Co, Ga in 1797 MJZ) I have copied about 60 pages of the Records from Richmond Co NC Superior Court. For your information Richmond County was cut from Anson County NC in 1779. Other information on these records includes much on Charles Medlock, ESQ aka Col Charles Medlock; Isreal Medlock's death, George Medlock's service to the County, some deed registers regarding the above and some suits including one of a Martha Hicks (with guardian John Husbbands) vs. James Pickett; Charles Medlock, esq. and a Crawford.
