Joe & all ... Looks like my Isham is Isham Elias as I have the same data as you Joe, except I didn't have the middle name Elias ... I have Isham married to Mary HUNTER ... as I already mentioned, their son Thomas is my line, my great-great grandfather. After Thomas died, his wife Margaret Ann Arthur went from Gasconade County to Douglas County Missouri and is found in the 1870 census with son William Martin Matlock and his wife Nancy Smith. If anyone is interested I have a really nice picture of Margaret Ann with William Martin & family ... anyone have any ideas on where else to look for parents or siblings on ISHAM ELIAS????? Lem Guthery <[email protected]> 01/12/01 10:03AM >>> Joe, I had some data that you didn't. You had data that I didn't. Is this your data or did someone supply it. I need to get some information from the researcher. You had Thomas B. Matlock marrying ELIZABETH ANN BETSY MCKINNEY > 20 August 1846 in Carter County, Tennessee. I have the marriage record of a Thomas B. MATTOCK to ELIZABETH McKINNEY on the very same date in Wright Co. Missouri. Coincidence or an error!?! EMAIL received 31 Jan 2001 form Lem Guthert Joe, After a little more work, I have broken the tie with Thomas B. Matlock son of Isom Matlock. In the Census record for 1870, Thomas Jefferson Matlock says his father was born in Kentucky, not Missouri. Now, I need to pursue those records more. Older family members report that Thomas B. Matlock's wife was Betsy Ann McKinney not Elizabeth. Coincidence or not it just doesn't fit. The birth dates are skewed as well. Will let you know if I find something more concrete. But a good disconnect is as important as a proven connection. So I will quit propagating an error. Matlock. Here is the info: Thomas Buckingham Matlock b. 1 JUL 1823 in Washington Co, Tennessee d. 30 OCT 1890 in Wright Co, Missouri buried #5 Cemetery, Mansfield, Wright Co, MO married 26 AUG 18 Wright Co Missouri to Elizabeth Ann (BETTY) McKinney (Sister of Lydia) b. 13 NOV 1829 Carter Co, Tennessee d. 28 JUN 1908 Wright Co Missouri buried at #5 Cemetery, Mansfield, Wright Co, MO Thomas Buckingham Matlock is the son of Isom (Isham) Esau Matlock and Nancy Ellen Hale. Elizabeth Ann (Betty) McKinney is the daughter of Joseph McKinney b. 1800 NC and wife Elizabeth. The nickname Betty is from her tombstone. It has Betty A. McKinney, the Marriage record has Elizabeth McKinney. I'm glad that is cleared up. Lem vii. JEROME MATLOCK, b. 1826, Washington County, Tennessee; d. 1874. viii. DAVID BOONE MATLOCK, b. 1831. >>> <[email protected]> 02/08/01 07:32PM >>> Ok List.. Lets see if we can get the Ishams straight. I had a great time with the Zachariahs.. Seems we kind of got them down a little.. It appears that there were at least 2 early.. Maybe 3 Ishams Early in VA... Counties appear to be Augusta, Botetourt, Henry Cos...
