Hi again this note was at the bottom of the census information "Lafayette Medlock was the census taker but did not find him listed. His name was signed above each of these pages" Nor is he anywhere else. The L Matlock in Franklin County is one of the Littleberry's. Could this have been George Lafayette of the Georgia Medlocks? Hi Emma Your George is a slick one. There is a George L. in 1830 but he is gone by 1840 leaving only Moses and Nacny et al. I do have a George W. who might fit but he is in Monroe County, Indiana... Their daughter, Martha E. Settle, married GEORGE W MEDLOCK. I believe a George W Medlock was a sheriff in Monroe County, Al circa 1830-1835. Does anyone have a clue as to which Medlock branch he belongs with ?
