Joe, According to the Warren Co, KY census record John C Matlock was born in KY. In the1850 his age was 34 born KY; Alpha either 41 or 44 and born in SC. In the 1860 John's age 44 born in KY. No wife is listed in the 1860. Question for you.. On the 1860 census there is an elderly male Matlock, P. middle initial either T.or J. Matlock; his age 71. Do you know who this is? I don't have where this P T/J Matlock was born; Sorry... Did John re-marry after Alpha's death?
