    3. Wanda These sites usually list only about 182 to 185 defenders. At least three men on the list are known to be alive several years after the fall of the fort. At least two are known to have died of wounds several days after the battle but the names have been lost. LTC (later Colonel) James Neill of the Texas Artillery and commander of the Alamo at the time of the battle mentions between 50 and 75 men as sick or recovering from wounds before the siege begins. These men are not named in Neill's letter, are present at the battle and account for in numbers by the Mexican causality list. The best estimate of Texian KIA is 250. I have found no other evidence of Rial death there but is there evidence of him any where else after the war? I think I will leave it in... Well I found this site and another one that list all the defenders of the Alamo. There were no Matlock. Looking on Google I found two sites that list the defenders.. This is one of them http://www.thealamo.org/defenders.html I'm going to remove that note from my files. Hope you are doing well. Wanda
