Was born in Calhoun Co I went and checked on the Ark Census Index in 1860 and I found 2 Matlocks there in 1860 and 1870.. Thinking one is the father of the ones your looking for since James would only be 2 in 1860. 1860 MATLOCK A. B. And see if a Columbus or James E is listed with either of them.. Looking in 1850 Dallas Co Ark I found a Helena Matlock, but no sons Albert or Lee are listed with her. . I have hunch that the mother of LP/Lee and AB /Albert is a Mary who was in Ouachita Co Ark 1850 The Census reads: Mary 54 FWidow B ? Ga Albert 20 M Labor B Ala Leondius 13 M B Ala Also In Ocuchita Co were these Matlocks City of Camden John Matlock 36 merchant Ga.b 1814 1850 Ouachita Ark there was a Luke Williams family Luke William 49 M B Ga Mary 30 F B Ala Julia Matlock 7 F B Ark It shows that a L P was in Texas by 1873.
