    3. Mary Jean I would suppose that part of the answer may lie in geography. How are Greeenville in Laurens County, and Greenville county South Carolina related? Where is the Edgefield District? And how is Samuel Medlock who died in 1829 in the Edgefield District related to the John of Greenville? And who is Thomas (B. 20 Aug 1808) ? And how are they all related to Thomas (Christen 9 Apr 1769 in England) who never emigrated?? I think that we must treat them (the John's) as separate individualls until more evidence is gathered and discussed. What do you think? Best Regards Joe Matlock >>> <[email protected]> 11/28/00 03:23PM >>> Dear Joe, Sam and all: If Garrison Gibson Medlock was raised by his grandparents, the John Medlocks...were they the John Medlocks of South Carolina...who appeared on the 1790 census in Greenville Co, S.C.? If so, what do we know of this John Medlock of South Carolina? There are many records of John Medlocks in N.C. one in Burke and one in Rockingham Co on the 1790 census. I also have some printed pages, sent from Sam on a John Medlock born in Va. and died in Greenville, SC (Rev. Soldier) who reportedly produced Isham Medlock, who produced John Williams Medlock b in S. C. in 1803. These above referenced pages do not document their sources for this information, however. Do any of you know of this connection and if so do you have any source for it? Thanks, Mary Jean
