    3. Good Morning Peggy As you are aware there is considerable discussion on the issue of parents for Isham and Parthenia. The chart below is ment to only be a suggestion, based on the evidence provided on various sources at rootsweb and genfourm. Concrete documentation may not be forth coming. The argument from negative evidence is always the least desired but serves as pointers and sign posts in the search. I belived that a key element of the search now rest with those in the famliy who have access to the colonial immagration records. Which Medlock's arrived in South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia and when??? I believe that we are dealing with more than one immagrant famliy, maybe of some kin, who lived in the same general areas and intermarried and or closely associated so as to be confused one with the other. Given the poor quality of spelling by mordern standards in colonial records and the bable of accents (what does a 17th century Englishman sound like), the occasion is ripe for lost families, missing records and disappearance of now necessary information. But hey its getting cold out, let's keep looking. Joe Matlock Descendants of John Matlock THIS FAMILY USES THE SURNAME MEDLOCK Generation No. 1 1. JOHN1 MATLOCK was born Abt. 1755.
