I am finally working on this project again. We are remodeling our home and I am forced to stay home while the workmen are in the house. I am going to put the time to good use. I am formatting the pages for the book, Dickson County, Tennessee Residents, circa 1850, "Gon But Not Forgoten." I am using Word 2000 to generate each page. The outlines are the "meat" of the book. I would suggest copying and pasting the outline to your own word processing program. I don't think the outlines will copy exactly to an email, but I am not sure. In the actual book, each page # will correspond to the family # from the 1850 Dickson Co., TN Census. In the book each page will contain the census info, the outline, a brief notation of sources, a list of other families with the same surname, my questions (wish list for additional info) and a contact: me and/or the name, address, and email address of a direct descendant or an interested researcher of each family. I don't have direct descendants/interested researchers for every family. Please let me know if you are interested in any family that does not have one. If you are already helping me with this project, you will receive a copy of your page/pages before the outline is posted to the list. I need all the help I can get with this project. Please post additional information or corrections for any outline to the list. Be sure that the subject line includes the surname and the family #. Example: CHRISTIAN, # 1, 1850. If you are critiquing anything, positive or negative, that is not factual information, please contact me off list at: [email protected] . I would hate to bore the list! This is my first effort at such a large project. I know I will make mistakes. Please remember that I would not intentionally publish incorrect information. I consider this book a guide. Each outline will state that is to be considered only a guide. Each person should seek his/her own documentation for any name, date, or location, unless a primary source is given. For those of you who don't know, the misspelled "gon but not forgoten" comes directly from my great grandmother's bible. She recorded and signed the birth and death dates of her parents along with the phrase, "gon but not forgoten." This bible came into my possession when my mother died in 1995. I could certainly identify with that phrase, as I missed my parents very much, and since I can't spell worth a darn either, felt closer to this woman who had died before I was born. I am so appreciative for all the help I have received. From a single date to a zip disc (from Glen Russell) filled with his life's research, every item has been helpful. I have enjoyed "talking" with each of you and look forward to the day we can meet. This is truly a joint effort. Thanks again!
