In the Census record for 1870, Thomas Jefferson Matlock says his father was born in Kentucky, not Missouri. Now, I need to pursue those records more. Older family members report that Thomas B. Matlocks wife was Betsy Ann McKinney not Elizabeth. Coincidence or not it just doesn't fit. The birth dates are skewed as well. Will let you know if I find something more concrete. But a good disconnect is as important as a proven connection. So I will quit propagating an error.
