    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Matlock, Weddle Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/nAz.2ACEB/400.3.2 Message Board Post: Hi Dick! I just read the message that you wrote to Lisa Matlock-Robles back in 2002. Lisa is a distant cousin of mine. We are descendants of William Robert Matlock who was born about 1830 in Hawkins county TN. In that message you said that you are a descendant of Isham Matlock and that one branch of your family is from the Bristow - Kellyville, OK area. Co-incidentally Lisa is from Muldrow and I live in Bristow. Our family moved from Jackson county Indiana to southeastern Kansas sometime in the mid-1870's. Then sometime about 1879 they moved to Franklin county Arkansas. They lived in the Franklin - Crawford county area until sometime around 1905 when they moved to Oklahoma the first time. They moved back and forth between Arkansas and Oklahoma until about 1928 when they moved to Oklahoma the last time. They settled first in the Depew, Creek county area. Some of my uncles moved to Muldrow in the early 1930's. Lisa's grandfather was one of them. Some of my family stayed in the Creek county area. My Dad was one of them. Even though we live in the same area that your family does, as far as I know we're not descendants of Isham. We are a different line. We are descendants of John Matlock, John Jr,,Nicholas, and Richard (born 1761 in Granville county NC) It is thought that either Richard's oldest son Chrales or his son William was the father of our William Robert Matlock. I would really like to exchange information with you though. I think it's interesting how our families seem to have followed the same path. If you are interested I have a website on the Matlocks at http://groups.msn.com/TheMatlockFamily You can also send me an email anytime to carlyon.sue.mckinney@worldnet.att.net Carlyon Sue McKinney
