Hello Group: I mentioned this some time ago but think it now may becomes more pertinent and possibly one of you 25/25 should pursue this with Val D. Greenwood. From "The Researchers Guide to American Genealogy - 3rd Edition" by Val D. Greenwood - Published by Genealogical Publishing Co. in 2000 P. 35 ..."In one family three brothers deliberately spelled their surname in different ways---Matlock, Matlack and Matlick." There are no footnotes or reference number to this statement. Perhaps someone might wish to contact Val D. Greenwood and ask for a sources or sources for this statement.
