What Stanton deed records do you have for SC? Any chance that Staton could also be Stanton? Let me know. My Pendleton Deed Book by Willie arrived yesterday. This is something I have not seen before, page 323 of book: Pendleton District Conveyences Book G 1801-1804 pages 465-466 Hugh Moore for $100 sold to Tire (? Tice?) Light 150 acres on both sides of Wolenoy Creek of Saluda River, part of tract Moore now lives on. Date- 1 Feb 1803. Wit: William Linch Bery?, ROBERT B. MALLOCK (( called ABSOLOM IN OATH )) Oath is signed by WIlliam Lynch on 12 Mar 1803 to John Cochran JP. Recorded 11 Oct 1803. Sam we need you to read the original to see what she means by Robert B. Mallock being called Absolom in giving oath. Absolom could have given the oath but a Robert Mallock could have witnessed the deed. I'm wondering why she made Robert and Absolom the same person. Will you read this the next time at archives? Wonder if Joe knows who is this Robert Mallock? Terry
