Brenda, Looking at this. I see that Moore is there in 1780's. Last record that I have of Moore in Halifax County, VA is when he sold his son Zachariah land in 1777. Jane, his wife, is on Halifax County, VA tax list in 1782. Next record I have for him is 1787 in TN.....which by the way is the same year that I find a John in Hawkins County, TN. Don't know if this is Moore's John or this John from Botetourt. The one military record shows John, Charles, Berry Matlock. The McPherson's, Looney's and Rectors...which all go to the same general area of TN (Grainger Co). The McPherson's, Looney's and John's children are in the Roane County in the early 1800. So could these all be brothers... Could they all be children of William 1702. Botetourt is a bordering county of Bedford. Question: Did Jane and Moore separate? Jane in Halifax in 1782 and Moore in Botetourt at the same time. The 1782 Tax list is the last record of have of Moore's wife Jane.
