It has the same date I found from an obit in a newspaper. I'll have to see if I can get Robert's death cert. I haven't seen those years for the CA Death Index on Family Search. I'll have to check it for other relatives. I found those baptism records you linked to very recently. I thought that it is a likely match, also. Mary's mother's obit stated that she was from County Cork and the date for Mary's baptism is about right. I found a wedding record for Peter and Ellen at the Irish church records site, too. It seems that the family name was sometimes spelled Geany, Geaney, and Ganey. I suppose Geany said with an Irish accent might sound like Ganey to a census taker. Mary's sister Louise (who I believe never married) was always referred to as Miss Louise Geany in obits for other family members. I've been going with that spelling but I still do searches using the other spellings too. Thanks so much for your help me with this.
