I've "rescued" an old photograph identified only as "STOCKBRIDGE" which was taken at the Jones Studio in Providence, Rhode Island. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870's with the young man in the photograph likely in his 20's at the time it was taken. The photograph was recovered with others belonging to the Class of 1878 at Brown University. With that knowledge I was able to locate information regarding William Mauran STOCKBRIDGE who was a member of the Class of 1878 at Brown University. I believe that this is a photograph of him. Based on limited research I was able to locate William in census records as follows: 1860 census of Boston, MA: John C. STOCKBRIDGE, age 42, a Bapt. Clergyman, born ME Mary T.
