Margaret, since you mentioned the on-line archives at the Boston Globe, I decided to buy a one-day pass to that site. Well worth it! I found a funeral notice for "my" Jeremiah J. Hennesey on February 21, 1925. (This is not the same Jeremiah Hennessey I had found in the Zimmer Index). It gives his address on the same street where they were living in the 1920 census, and it gives the maiden name Mary O'Brien for his wife, which I know to be correct. It also indicates that Mary died "several months" before Jeremiah, so I can pretty confidently place her date of death in late 1924. (This means the Mary Hennessey I found in the Zimmer Index could be the right person. I'll need to follow up on that, probably ordering the microfilm through my library). Now that I'm confident on Jeremiah's date of death, I will order his death certificate. The notice gives the name of the church where the funeral was held, but does not specify burial location. I am also planning to write the church to request a copy of any death records. Will the death certificate specify burial location? I would really like to visit their graves if am in Boston again.
