I've "rescued" an old photograph identified only as "GRIFFIN" which was taken at the Manchester Bros. Studio in Providence, Rhode Island. The photograph is dated 1878 with the young man in the photograph most likely in his teens or 20's at the time it was taken. The photograph was recovered with others belonging to students and faculty from Brown University's Class of 1878. In reviewing the school alumni records there was a young man from the Class of 1877 named Arthur George GRIFFIN. Though he did not actually graduate from Brown University I'm of the opinion that it is likely him in this photograph. GRIFFIN, age 24, a Medical Student, born NH, parents born NH 1900 census of Malden, MA: Arthur GRIFFIN, age 44, married 12 years, born NH, parents born NH, a Physician + 3 boarders 1910 census of Malden, MA: Arthur G. GRIFFIN, age 56, married 22 years, born NH, parents born NH, a Physician Mary V. GRIFFIN, wife, age 46, married 22 years, 2 children/1 living, born NH, parents born NH Margaret D. GRIFFIN, dau, age 19, born MA + 1 Servant 1920 census of Malden, MA: Arthur G. GRIFFIN, age 66, born NH, parents born NH, a Retired Physician Mary R. GRIFFIN, wife, age 56, born NH, parents born NH Elizabeth SHIRLEY, niece, age 18, born NH, parents born NH I am hoping to locate someone from his family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of his family.
