I need to find a researcher to do a lookup in the state vital records office for me. I tried a couple of people listed on one of the national genealogical society web sites, and haven't heard back from them. I called the Boston public library, and the librarian in the social science section - they don't even have a separate genealogy section, which is hard to imagine in a place like Boston, told me they don't have such a list, she told me to look at two national genealogists' web sites, and she also told me that the city of Boston has NO local genealogical society.
