Surnames: Lemiuex Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZFB.2ACI/4055 Message Board Post: I'm looking for info on great uncle, Alfred Lemieux, b. in Maine 1884, died in MA, supposedly at VA hospital in Boston. Unsure of exact location. He was injured working on tunnels in NYC. Not sure of the year. For some reason, he ended up at VA hospital in MA. I have no record of him being a veteran. I have no date of death. I have a marriage, with spouse and date, but no other info. He might have been buried at Potter's Field, cemetery for poor. I don't want to go the NARA route to seek military info, since I don't think he served. Can't figure how he ended up at VA location. Don't know why he'd be in Potter's Field, with family in Maine. I can't send for death cert, as MA requires date of death. Does anyone have suggestion for me? Do you think the VA would look him up and give me date of death via phone? I am the only family left to resolve the mystery of this poor soul. I feel he deserves to have someone care enough to look up his info, if nothing else, bu! t for family history. Thanks...
