Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ZFB.2ACI/4051 Message Board Post: I have a few naturalization record questions. I have an ancestor who immigrated from Canada and was naturalized. My aunt has a naturalization record of some kind (I think she said it was an original certificate or something) which was dated 10 October 1896. I went to the Family History Library and searched the "Index to New England naturalization petitions, 1791-1906" and found my ancestor there with the naturalization date as 15 May 1896. I then searched "Naturalization Index Cards, 1790-1906" and found my ancestor there as well with the naturalization date listed as 21 September 1896. Both of the two records I found in the indexes listed the "Title and location of court" as "USCC Boston Mass". They then show a "Certificate no. (or vol. and page)" listed as "283-133". Question # 1: Why are there records with three different dates? Question # 2: My understanding is USCC means United States Circuit Court. How do obtain the orginal record? Is there a set of microfilm available from the Family History Library that contains copies of those originals? Can someone direct me to it?
