    3. Thank you for the suggestions. I have seen both the marriage and death records but they shed no light on where she might be buried. I took the marriage record with me to the Archdiocese archives trying to find the witnesses to the marriage and it was there I discovered (with the help of a woman who worked there) that they were not married by a priest. I then found that all the Newcombs in Nova Scotia (where she was from) were Protestant. So now I am trying to find her grave. I don't know that it will help me in my research but I like to cover everything. If I can find what type of Protestant she was maybe I can find the church record and find out who the witnesses were. Lots of ifs! Specifics (in case anyone knows any of these families) Stephen M. McLaughlin b. 1861 County Down Ireland, son of James Mclaughlin and Margaret Murray, married Hattie Newcomb, b. ____ in Nova Scotia Canada, dau of Albert and Theresa. Marriage took place May 3, 1887. Hattie died Feb 4, 1892.
