Since I have no idea who Benjamin's parents were I am attempting to follow the logic of parents naming a son after the father. I also know for a fact that Benjamin Bailey who married Susan Riley is a descendant of the Bailey DNA line I am following. The reason I am looking at Benjamin Bailey and Susan Riley is because my Benjamin's first daughter was named Susan and his first son was named William Benjamin. If I can find an obituary for Benjamin Bailey and Susan Riley perhaps their children will be named, thus either eliminating this couple or claiming them as ancestors. There are ever so many Bailey's in Maine and Massachusetts that it is quite a daunting task. First I must be sure they of the correct line. Then I must follow descendants in hopes of finding a connection. Knowing you descend from someone who arrived in America in 1635 and making a connection to another 200 years later is incredibly difficult.Hope this make! s sense to you. Thanks again. I am trying to find the names of their children. I am actually in search of my gr gr gr grandfather Benjamin Bailey b June 5, 1827 in Portland, Maine according to his passport records.I have everything on him from the time he left Boston for California until the end of his life. I have also paid for my cousin to take the DNA testing and prove that we descend from John Bailey who came to America in 1635 on the Gabriel. Unfortunately I cannot make the connection. My mother has been researching for Benjamin Bailey's parents for over 40 years and still we come up empty handed. So I continue to work my way through all the Baileys in New England! I have a blog that explains what I have on my Benjamin. http://benjaminbaileygenealogy.blogspot.com/ Thanks for you help. Christopher was shot to death by Ebenezer Richardson, a Loyalist informer, eleven days before the Boston Massacre, which claimed the lives of Samuel Gray, Samuel Maverick, James Caldwell, Crispus Attucks, and Patrick Carr, all of whom were laid to rest in the Granary Burial Ground. While only five people were actually killed during the Boston Massacre, it marked the beginning of the end of British rule over the American colonies. Christopher Snider was buried with the victims of the Boston Massacre, and they share a headstone. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
