Hi Bob, Alexander George Masters was born about 1856 in Hants County Nova Scotia. He was the son of John Matthew Masters & Lemina Mosher, other known children were Edward Masters born abt 1846 & Albert Masters born about 1853. We are not really sure how Alexander arrived in Australia, some family members were told he " jumped ship " somebody else told me he was a deserter from the American Navy. He settled in the Wollongong area of N.S.W. & married Frances Eliza Campbell in 1881 & produced 13 children, the most noteable being James [ Judy ] Masters who captained the Australian Soccer team in the 1920's.
