Hi June G. I am over here in Georgia. Alabama is the next State across the river. I am about 4 hours from Washington County, Alabama 60 miles out side of Mobile Alabama and Washington County sits right on the Mississippi State Line. I hope the Dawes List helps you. It did me I found my grandmother's name listed Minnie Lee Masters, only she has applied in her married name Minnie L. Waldrop. So don't give up if you look and can't find her, try another way. I did....and found her. She was listed in the Choctaw Indians who didn't join the Trail of Tears. I haven't found out why, yet, she wasn't moved with them. Could have been she married my grandpapa at age 16 and by by the time she applied on the Dawes List she was already age 22 married and had children. When you check out the Dawes List, if you first don't find your ancestor, play around with it. That is what I did. I really accidentialy ran across her name. Good Luck. Sandra maiden name Waldrop In memory of our mother Myra Elnora Richardson Waldrop (Sandra, Juanita and Norma Waldrop) who always signed off with," May The Lord Bless You and Keep You and May His Face Shine Upon You , Both Now and Forever.
