Does anyone know if Masters could be a Choctaw Indian name? I was visiting a Cherokee Indians reservation in Hamilton Georgia in the next County, and I was told all my life that my grand mother and great great grandmother might be part Indian. But nothing has showed up until lately. I found my grandmoter's name on the Dawes List. I asked them about the Cherokee Indians about the Masters name and they said, "Oh yes, the Masters name is well known among the Choctaw Indiands." Oddly they took one look at my eight year old granddughter and ,told her she was of the Choctaw Indians statue, they could tell by the shape of her body. She is about 10 to 12 lbs over the weigh she should be according to her Doctor. They said they could tell by her bone structure and the shape of her shoulders and length of legs. My granddaughter has dark deep brown, almost black hair and almost black eyes. They called her "Little Choctaw girl". They even said they were sure she would grow tall. I am 5'6' and so is her mother and they said , "oh no, she will be taller". I asked them how they knew so much about the Choctaw Tribe and they...looked at each other and smile...on said, "Choctaw, our enemy, we know them well." She said , "most Cherokees and Choctaws do not mix well." Has anyone ever heard of this before? Thanks for any information.b Sandra Maiden name Waldrop
