I need information on Josie Masters, I don't have a date of birth yet, but I believe she died circa 1904. She was married to George Drake and had several children, one being the oldest, Lela Drake born in 1899 in Brazil, Iowa. I have heard that these Masters are Portuguese. Does anyone know of any Masters being Portuguese? Linda

Linda Would it be possible that your Masters could have been of Minorcon decendent. You might want to check http://www.mccown.org/ This database is listed under "Betts Genealogy". There are several Josephine Masters listed, with a birth dates of 1861 & 1863. If there is anyway you could identify Josie Masters' siblings, that could be a help. Also check the available census for 1880 and 1900. Maybe this could furnish a clue as to where she was born. Dave Masters
