In deleting old messages I saw this one this morning and now know that our George and Annette Tull Masters were included in the Derbyshire Census of 1901, living in Newhall. They had been living in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire previously, although George was listed in 1901 Census as being born in Kirby Bellars, Leicestershire. Do we have any connections Mary Georgia, USA -----Original Message----- From: Louise Jordan [mailto:jordan@36appledown.fsnet.co.uk] Sent: Thursday, January 31, 2002 4:32 AM To: MASTERS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MASTERS] Masters in England I have been subscribing to this list for a few months and it appears that most of the discussion involves Masters in America. Is anyone out there researching Masters in England? Especially in the counties of Herefordshire (1795 - 1888), Worcestershire, Huntingdon(1871), Derbyshire(1881) and Nottinghamshire(1991 - 1930). As a result we do not know anything about their family and we would dearly love to. Their parents were Edward Masters and Florence Rose Follington and they lived in Bennendon near Cranbrook in Kent. Edward became a farm stockman. They would have been born in the late 1800;s or the early 1900;s. This is all that is known.
One of my correspondents needs some assistance with some Masters in Somerset or Wales. If you can help please let me know, and I'll put you in touch with him. The oldest date i have , is Johannis[John]Masters,] married to--Margeret England 21 July 1740 children-Gulielmus---------B 27 may 1741 John-----------------B 15 Dec 1742 Gratia---------------B 10 Jan 1748 My Grfather was a William Masters- B 4 Dec 1871, Thanks, Dave Masters dmasters@houston.quik.com
The list has a bunch of UK Masters [and others with information back to England] as subscribers, so I thought I'd throw this out to everyone if they would keep it in mind. We are looking for a Robert Masters, who immigrated to Maryland in 1679. He would probably have been born around 1659. If anyone has someone by this name, who disappeared around 1679, would appreciate hearing from you. Dave Masters dmasters@houston.quik.com List Administrator
