Dear David, I would like to say thanks for forwarding this message to the list. I have made contact with Olive and our grandparents were siblings. Faye, I believe you and I have communicated before, but I might not have known then about the Leicestershire connection to my ancestors. How close is Willoughby to Kirby Bellars or Melton Mowbray? That is the area where one of my George Masters lived in the 1820's. I have a christening date of 1829 and probably a father named George Masters (birthplace unknown) married to an Elizabeth. Your John Masters might be in the age range to be a brother or cousin, if there is any connection at all. I haven't sent for any certificates at this point, but I plan to do that fairly soon. This has certainly been an illusive family, hasn't it?!! Good luck in your search. Edward was born in1892, and was married to Florence Rose Follington on the 16th August 1915 and he died on the 10th May 1953, in Benenden. Florence was born on the 13th May 1895 in Benenden, Kent. She died 17th June 1971, in Benenden. They both had a father called James and Florences mother could have been called Lydia. There was at least a relative called Lydia Follington. The only children known about apart from my father Arthur and his brother George (they were placed into a Barnados home and ended up in Oxfordshire), was a sister called Edith Rose, and a brother with the initials G E. Edward and Florence stayed togerher and these two children stayed with them. They seemed to have lived and died in Benenden so there must be some of the Masters family left there. If so perhaps anyone who is related or just knew them might shed a bit of light on my elusive family! We would just like to know a bit about their lives, for instanc! e Eward must have survived the two world wars. Look forward to hearing from anyone who remembers them.
Not really sure if my uncle is the same one. His name is Chester Anderson "Jack" Masters. He was born Dec. 9, 1928, probably Lewis Co., KY. I know he served in the Army during the Korean War. I do know that he was married to my aunt when you were born. He is not tall though, only about 5'8" ~ 5'10". He used to have dark brown, slightly curly hair. His eyes are a blue-green. Sounds close, but not exact. He is in VERY bad health now. Good luck in your search.
