I have one name Margie Masters born in Indiana in 1939.
I am looking for the names of Masters who live in Indiana. Any help would be appreciated.
Do you have their names, locations and/or approximate dates? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Colleen Moore" <CAMoore@cms.hamilton-co.org> To: <MASTERS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 03, 2003 11:51 AM Subject: Re: [MASTERS] Monroe Masters I am looking for the names of Masters who live in Indiana. Thank you so much for your information. I guess my next project will be to try to find some of the "cousins." I have one link left to my grandfather's siblings that I cannot locate. Her name was Ova Masters, married Wesley Goode and moved to AR and no one in the family has any information on them. But I do appreciate your response and I will let my 89 year old mother know this. Elaine, the 27 August edition of Ancestry Daily News at Ancestry.com features Bureau County, Illinois Historical and Biographical Sketches as one of the daily new databases. There is one mention of Thomas J Cole on p. 118 of the online image. There are 18 mentions of the Masters family members on as many pages. Judy, your mother was correct, you do have a lot of cousins in Overton, and the surrounding counties. As far as I can calculate James Washington Masters, and my great-grandfather, Thomas David Masters were second cousins. Our common ancestor was Hillery Masters. If you want further information, please let me know, and I'll research Jack Masters' book, "Masters Family History, 1691-1989, or you could go to his pages at http://www.jackmasters.net/ Dave Masters ----- Original Message ----- From: <Bondurantsbake@cs.com> To: <MASTERS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 02, 2003 3:40 PM Subject: Re: [MASTERS] Monroe Masters I do not have any info on this particular Masters, but my line also lived in Overton Co Tenn. My great-grandfather was James Washington Masters, married Emily Cleek. They moved to Robertson Co, TN and that is where my grandfather, Tom Masters lived until his death in 1972. My mother was born there and I was born in Springfield, TN. Mother always said there were cousins in Overton Co. I am wondering if there is a link here. James Washington Masters' sister was Louise Sabrina "Bryan", married Joseph Warren Morgan. Sound like any of your people? I know that Louise had around 10 children. Judy Bondurant, Amherst, VA

In the same household is living Elizabeth Masters, his step mother, age 44; Coe Masters, stepson, age 28, Monroe Masters, stepson, age 16, George Masters, stepson, age 14, and Modena Masters, daughter, age 4. "The Masters Family History, 1691-1989" by Jack Masters, indicates that Lu would be James Leon "Lee" Masters, born 1859. He indicates that the census taker entered Modena as Lee's daughter in error. Apparently Lee moved to Oregon with an unknown wife, along with the others, except for Modena. I have looked at this all day to sort it out, but will have to continue to do so, unless someone else has already done so. Would appreciate any info you have on these people after they went to Oregon. Would be interesting in filling this information in. You may contact me personally thru my email. BTW, these Overton County Masters are my bunch also.

Upgrade installed and going great -- I am still searching for MASTERS family ancestry -- preferably in the Alabama, North Carolina, Texas areas. I would truly appreciate any information from these states and of course others with same connections. My maternal ggfather, Mason H. Masters, was born in 1844 in Alabama. He was the fifth of 6 children born to John Masters and Zilpha Johnston. John Masters (1792 - 1857) born in South Carolina, married Zilpha Johnston, born in 1815 in N. Carolina, on 18 May 1834, in Montgomery County, Alabama. Little is known about Mason"s parents. My maternal grandmother, Maggie Arvizna Masters, was the third child in the family of Mason and Mattie Harverston. Maggie was born Oct. 7, 1877.
Will be offline for a day -- getting new hardware, etc. Back on soon -- like probably Thurs. sometime, Friday for sure. Thanks for all emails -- look forward to them. Take care. June "keep a rainbow in your heart" Tejas True!
I am trying to locate my grandfather's sister's families. My gfather was Tom Masters from Cedar Hill, TN. He had a sister Ova Masters who married a Wesley Goode and they lived in Arkansas somewhere. I have no idea who the children married and would love to find a link to this branch of the family. This is the only branch I have not been able to locate. Judy Bondurant, Amherst, VA
